As an amateur craft beer writer, I often find myself explaining the differences between certain styles of beer. I created this learning object as a tongue and cheek lesson for my friends and family. This senior follows “Dave” as he learns more about craft beer terms, styles and flavors to prepare for a party he is throwing for his friends.

The scenario is to assist a friend with hosting a party. This friend is hosting a bunch of Craft Beer snobs and needs to educate himself before the party. The scenario covers common craft beer terms, styles and it’s history. Users interact with all slides with features like hover to reveal. A beer styles glossary. A drag and drop interactive timeline of the history of craft beer. Next our learner attends a house party where they assist in selecting beer for the guests. There are three guests with distinct beer preferences. The learner drags the beer image from the hand of our lead character to the option which best fits his friends request. There is only one correct option per slide but learners can guess as many times as they need too. Learners finish the module with an understanding of different styles of craft beer and their corresponding flavor profiles.
